Scan and Pay brings a new dimension to shopping. The mobile phone is your personal checkout counter, and standing in line to pay may be a thing of the past. Scan and Pay AS (SCAP) has developed a system for the retail business, turning the customer's own mobile phone into a self scanning device. As a result, you and your customer save time, the store benefits from increased bag size, and the customer does not have to stand in line to pay for goods anymore. The system gives endless possibilities for communication with customers before, during and after the shopping session. The queue is the main source of frustration for retail customers. At the checkout counter, 70% of the time is spent putting goods onto the belt and scanning them. This does NOT include standing in line, and bagging the goods afterwards. This is eliminated when using Scan and Pay. The customers pick their products along the aisles, scans it using their mobile phones, and bag them directly. At the end of the shopping session, the customer pays for the products, using either an express counter, or a payment system on the phone itself. When self scanning with the SCAP solution, the customer uses her own mobile phone. The SCAP solution is the only one on the market that does not require any sort of device from the store.
