The FTI Touristik AG was founded under the name CA Fernreisen and developed by the company's former headquarters in Dübendorf in Zurich as a leading company for the Swiss travel industry. In 2004 the company moved to Basel and became the market leader for departures from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg. Today it offers travel experiences in over 120 countries on five continents from all major airports in Switzerland. Swiss holiday makers can choose between traditional beach holidays as well as modular trips from the tour operator brand FTI Touristik, last minute offers from 5vorFlug, Language Travels from LAL Sprachreisen as well as cars and motorhomes from driveFTI, the company's rental car broker. The FTI Touristik AG generates its revenues mainly through travel agencies in Switzerland (more than 800 sales partners) and in Alsace in France (500 sales partners) as well as Baden-Württemberg in Germany. The orange tour operator brand FTI Touristik is part of the FTI GROUP, the fourth largest tour operator in Europe. Headquartered in Munich, the FTI GROUP employs 10,000 staff worldwide. It achieved sales volumes of 3,6 billion euros in the fiscal year 2017/18 and serviced seven million customers.
